New Delhi, Dec. 24 (ANI): Doctors attending to the victim of the Delhi gang rape incident said that she is still critical and remains in danger.
Briefing reporters, the medical superintendent of the Safdarjung Hospital, Dr. B. D. Athani said on Monday evening that the girl continues to remain in ventilator and her health has somewhat deteriorated.
"She continues to remain on
ventilator and we have not made an attempt to vein her off. She is
slightly pyrexia; her temperature is fluctuating between 102 to
104-degree. She is critical and if we talk in relative terms, she is
not as good as yesterday. She has somewhat deteriorated because of
internal bleeding," said Athani.
Psychatrist Rajesh Rastogi said she is composed and has no signs of depression.
"There was no evidence of anxiety
or depression we could elicit today. We have done a supportive
psychotherapy to her as well as to the parents, which is of much great
importance in acute care because the event is extraordinary in that
reference. So, we have talked to the parents as well as counselled her,"
said Rastogi.
Authorities restricted movement
in the heart of the capital, shutting roads and railway stations to
restore law and order, after police fought pitched battles with
protesters enraged by the gang rape of the young woman.
In the weekend spasm of violent
protests, police used batons, teargas and water cannon against
demonstrators around the capital. Protests have also taken place in
other cities but they have been more peaceful. (ANI)
