Over the past few years, Salman Khan has made it a
habit of getting his films released on Eid, with successful results.
However, this time, it seems Salman has stiff competition from none
other than the actor with the 'dhai kilo ka haath'-Sunny Deol!
Buzz has it that Sunny's upcoming film Singh Saab The Great is
slated to hit the silver screens on Eid, which falls on August 8 this
year. A source attached to the movie said, “Sunny is happy with the way
the film has been shaping up. The drama and the action have brought so
much confidence into the characters and Sunny feels Eid would be just
the right date for the release.” On his part, Sunny said, “The film is
based on a common man's life and Eid is one of those holidays when the
'aam aadmi' is in a much happier space. Since the significance of this
festival is also interpreted as a good time to bring people together in
harmony and gratitude, we are aiming for an Eid release.” When asked if
he is worried about competition from other releases on the same day,
Sunny replied, “The cinema business has changed. Since there are so many
cinema halls, two big films can release at the same time. I am sure no
one wants to take over anyone's business.”
Apart from Singh Saab The Great, Sunny will also be seen displaying his romantic side in I Love New Year, where he will be paired opposite Kangna Ranaut for the very first time.
