Britain's nightlife
Britain is known for many things — its food, history, sport and
fashion — but it is Britain's vibrant and diverse nightlife that sets it
apart from any other country. With a huge student population,
innovative bars and clubs are forever cropping up; while longstanding
venues always remain firm favourites among Britain's elite. Grab your
friends and head out on one of these fun-filled nights out in Britain.London
Not only the capital of the United Kingdom, but the party capital too, London has a never-ending array of fun and frivolities on offer. With reality television series Made in Chelsea demonstrating just how hip and happening this city can be, venues such as Whisky Mist and Mahiki are the places to be seen as they often make it into the tabloids. The capital attracts students, tourists and just about every celebrity worth mentioning, with Mahiki in Mayfair being a firm favourite among the young royals including Prince Harry.
Liverpool
Liverpudlians know how to party, so the city won't let you down if you want a fun-filled night. Famous for its music scene, Liverpool is the home of The Beatles and the famous Cavern Club, and is also recognised for its dance music with hotspots including the club Garlands and Newz Bar. Comedy is also a big part of Liverpool's nightlife, so pay a visit to one of the many comedy clubs. The Albert Dock is a must-visit location, with its trendy bars and restaurants that are favourite haunts of footballers. Panoramic is also a desired spot, as well as Alma De Cuba and Palm Sugar Lounge — you are spoiled for choice in Liverpool!
Manchester
For a night to remember, head to one of the North's most vibrant cities — Manchester. With its buzzing student nightlife and a thriving music scene, Manchester has some of the best bars and clubs in Britain, with 500 to choose from in the city centre alone. Tiger Tiger is a firm favourite — spread over three floors, choose from bars, a nightclub, restaurant and even a karaoke room. Deansgate Locks and the Printworks are popular locations too, with choices of restaurants and cocktail bars. Or why not catch a show at the MEN Arena? Real ale pubs, an indie vibe in the Northern Quarter and a student buzz on Oxford Road, Manchester has something for everyone.
Leeds
This is a city that likes to party. Perhaps it is the influence of the annual Leeds Festival, which welcomes the biggest names of music each summer, or the fact that people flock for miles for a night on the town here, but this city is a must-visit if you're after a fun-filled night. Party until the early hours in the 'clubbing capital of the UK', with over 30 clubs in the city centre you're spoiled for choice. Favourite venues include the The Cockpit — a unique venue under a railway bridge where you can enjoy great gigs. Oceana, The Box and Tiger Tiger are all worth a visit too.
Brighton
In the South East of England, the town of Brighton is a notable location for its night scene. Associated with big name music artists including DJ Fatboy Slim, The Kooks and Rizzle Kicks, the town has music running through its veins in the form of countless live music venues. Not a town known for its early nights, expect to party until dawn in Brighton. Head to Madam Geisha, Bar 76 or Lola Lo to tick the must-see box, or for live music, check out Brighton Dome or The Old Market.
Birmingham
The most populated British city outside London, Birmingham is a buzzing student city which indicates it's full of innovative clubs and trendy bars. Offering theatres, live music and comedy clubs along with your expected mix of clubs and bars, Birmingham will not disappoint. Head to Broad Street and Brindley Place for a top night out in Birmingham, with venues including Bar Risa and the Highlight club. Snobs nightclub, The Medicine Bar and Jools Holland's bar, The Jam House, are all popular locations too, particularly with the huge student population. If it's live music you're after then head to the O2 Academy, which sees big and current names perform regularly.
