It was a shoot that lasted more than six months -- much longer than most typical film productions because both parts of "Breaking Dawn"
were being made at once. It's only understandable that some "Twilight"
cast members told Yahoo! Movies they were quite glad to finish up.
"I was so happy to take my wig off and take my contacts out. My eyes
were burning and I couldn't really process the fact that it was over. We
kind of just left." Nikki Reed (Rosalie) said of her final moment
filming "Breaking Dawn."
"I remember my last moment. It was 6:30 in the morning, I was exhausted
and we had been shooting in the cold," Reed recalled, adding that she
was wearing very little clothing and that as an actress she could never
show that she was feeling cold on film.
Taylor Lautner (Jacob) revealed his last scene was actually the slow
dancing scene with Kristen Stewart (Bella) in "Breaking Dawn - Part 1."
(Yes everyone, in Hollywood, movies are usually shot out of story
sequence.) And yeah, he was feeling a sense of closure. "It was tough. I
remember just looking at Kristen being like... 'This is it!'"
Watch the cast of 'Twilight' discuss their final moments on set:
Both Peter Facinelli (Carlisle) and Elizabeth Reaser (Esme) said the
ending of the film shoot was surreal. "We were filming for, like, six
months so we didn't ever think there was going to be an end," said
Facinelli as both he and Reaser added that the end date kept getting
pushed.
Kellan Lutz said the cast was reminiscing during the shoot until it
got to be about three months in. "And then seven months in, I was the
very last one working. Everyone else had gone home. I had a stunt that I
had to do -- which I love stunts -- don't get me wrong. But it was just
seven months away from home," he said, adding, "I was ready to get
outta there."
Sure, while a lot of cast members were ready to get back to their
daily lives, they all also expressed how meaningful the series as a
whole has been to them. Lautner and Lutz specifically noted the
friendships they made while filming "Twilight."
"The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2" is in theaters now.
