What should we know about Julianne Moore’s Mockingjay character?

Prolific actress Julianne Moore is to play President Alma Coin in both parts of 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay', and fans are extremely excited to see her on the big screen following the first look at her character recently released on The Hunger Games Exclusive.
Moore looked unrecognisable in the images, and the rest of the exclusives mainly revolved around the integration of her character into the series, so what should we know about President Coin ahead of 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay' - Part One's' release later this year?
District 13 style
We may now be used to the extreme styles seen in the Capitol, but there's little colour to be found in District 13. Gone will be the extravagance of Effie Trinket's designer dresses and in their place will be grey jumpsuits and no make-up - and President Coin will be just as thrifty with her fashion.
In a role that heavily departs from Moore's natural image, Coin is described in the book as being about 50 years old, with grey hair. Katniss comments that Coin's pale grey eyes look like "all the colour was sucked away" from them, and that they resembled "slush that you wish would melt away."
Routine lifestyle
Coin is a very goal-orientated leader, and, as such, the routine of District 13 is all about living an orderly and punctual lifestyle. Activities are scheduled and are expected to be adhered to, and even family time is organised in to the day.
As it was thought that District 13 was bombed, the residents moved underground, where they began developing and manufacturing weapons. Therefore, rooms there are dingy, enclosed and there's almost no natural light.
Tensions with the Mockingjay
As Katniss struggles to comprehend what happened to her in the arena, and that President Snow now has Peeta, she has a few run-ins with President Coin. Director Francis Lawrence explains, "Her relationship with Katniss is very complicated, because Katniss is wary of everyone at this point."
While there's a frosty tension between the authoritative President Coin and Katniss, Moore revealed that she thinks the 'girl on fire' is a great character. She explained, "Katniss in particular is someone who everyone responds to - she's a real girl, and she also has some moral ambiguity. She doesn't feel that she always knows what the right thing is to do, she sort of acts on her impulses."
Shaping the character
Moore has explained that she's worked hard on shaping President Coin, as the character is only featured in the last book of the series, and there's less known about her. "Coin is very sparingly drawn," she explained. "You don't know who she is because she's only spoken about from Katniss' point of view."
Director Francis Lawrence also expanded on the character's intentions, stating, "Coin's singular vision to unite all the districts in a massive rebellion is no small undertaking, especially when most of the districts have no idea that District 13 still exists… Julianne has done an amazing job with helping to shape the character of Coin."
Screenwriter Peter Craig, who picked up from Danny Strong's earlier scripts for 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay', added, "Her portrayal of Coin is filled with such intelligence and warmth, anyone would want to be loyal to the character she has created."
